Around 17.000 students are participating to this year’s activities of Conectando mundos. We are really glad to have received so many registrations; we hope you are motivated and that no one is left behind along the way! ;-)

Keep in mind that you can access the activities only by using the username and password that you have received.

We will be working together for seven weeks between 8 February and 21 March. It is possible that you might come across some problem or query. It will obviously be our pleasure to help you.

Under the title Dreams of a Swallow we will focus on migrations and human development from the conception of global citizenship, with the aim of contributing to the creation of an open society based on values of respect for people of different origins.

The first three weeks of the activity are devoted to the teaching-staff, to help you discover how the Connecting Worlds platform works and previously learn about the contents we will be working on with the students.

The activity with the students begins on February 8 and lasts six weeks. The students of the schools which have registered to Connecting Worlds will work on the proposals inside the classroom and later, through Internet with other groups of students from different countries organised into working teams of the same age range.

The objective of this cooperative work is that students learn about different ways of understanding the world and learn to discuss and reach common ground, both with their Internet fellow team members and with their own classmates.

This year´s main changes focus on the 2.0 Blackboard, Connecting World´s social network. On previous editions we already counted on a space that allowed students to interact in a more informal manner. However, thanks to Web 2.0 tools, this space – which will remain active once the activity is over - will allow increased interaction between groups, who will be able to create a blog, share videos and photographs, etc.

Finally, face-to-face meetings will be held between April and May.
